Tractor trailer rolls and closes Highway 17

A two vehicle crash at 7:38 this morning closed Highway 17 west of Coniston, near Sudbury.

An investigation has revealed that an eastbound tractor-trailer rolled onto its side and struck a westbound vehicle while coming off the Highway 17 ramp heading towards North Bay.

Both drivers were taken to hospital where they were treated and released. The highway was closed for a couple of hours while the tractor-trailer was cleared.

It has since reopened.

Members of the Sudbury OPP, the Sudbury Fire Department, and the Sudbury District Emergency Medical Services, responded to the collision.
