On Friday September 22, 2006 Mr. Graham will announce he is filing nomination papers for the 2006 Municipal Election.

Mr. Graham stated “I was fortunate to fill the spot vacated by Tom Mason in November 2005 and that afforded me the opportunity to learn all aspects of Municipal business. Now I am ready to serve the people of North Bay for a full term.”

Tom is a local small businessman having lived in North Bay all his life. He has served two terms as a School Board Trustee; former director of the Chamber of Commerce; former Treasurer of the Literacy Council of North Bay; former board member on the Centennial Public School and Chippewa Secondary School Parent Council. Tom is currently a Board Member of the North Bay YMCA. Tom has always made himself available to the public and will continue to work hard on their behalf. Tom has two sons attending university in Ottawa and would very much like for them to have the opportunity to return home to live and work in North Bay.

Tom’s mandate for the next four years, if elected, will be to work hard on the following initiatives:

Changing the format under which council operates. Focusing on the need for more individual committee meetings where councillors and staff interact.

Improving the relationship with other levels of government in order to facilitate funding and joint projects
Improving the lifestyle opportunities, including affordable housing for seniors and those less fortunate in our community.

Get in motion, programs that will allow our children the opportunity to increase their physical activity. This will enhance the new initiative that began in our elementary schools this year.
