North Bay police have made three arrests at the North Bay Bus Terminal in connection to a drug investigation.
North Bay police officers were conducting an investigation on April 18 involving the distribution of illegal drugs in the area. That investigation led police to the bus terminal on Station Street.
Shortly after 6:40 p.m. police stopped Tyrone Lothian and Kacy Downer who were entering a pickup truck being driven by Nicholas Vaillancourt.
As police moved in to arrest the individuals the driver put the vehicle in gear and drove into a police officer. Police were able to stop the vehicle and the three men were arrested.
The officer received injuries requiring medical attention but has been released from medical care.
As a result of this investigation police seized at the scene;
- Approximately 502.2 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine
- Approximately 77.7 grams of suspected purple fentanyl
- Approximately 161.5 grams of suspected cocaine
- $382.50 in cash
The estimated street value of the drugs seized is $87,390
Nicholas Vaillancourt, 33, of North Bay is charged with:
- Possession of a controlled substance (cocaine);
- Two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking (Methamphetamine and Fentanyl)
- One count of assault with a weapon
- Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
Kacy Downer, 24, of Scarborough is charged with:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
Tyrone Lothian, 20, of Brampton is charged with:
- Two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking (Methamphetamine and Fentanyl).
All three remain in custody pending bail hearings at the North Bay Courthouse.
