On January 18 a woman from Astorville was charged with impaired driving, after being stopped during a R.I.D.E. program in North Bay.
Just before midnight two officers from the North Bay Police Service were conducting a R.I.D.E (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) program on Laurentian Avenue. A vehicle was stopped and a 34-year-old woman from Astorville was identified as the driver and was found to be impaired by alcohol.
She was arrested and taken to North Bay Police Service Headquarters, where further tests were conducted. She was subsequently charged with "Operation While Impaired by Alcohol" and "Operation with a Blood-alcohol Concentration over 80mg."
She was later released on an undertaking with a future court date.
As a result of the same R.I.D.E. program, two people were charged with driving while suspended and one person was issued a Provincial Offence Notice for not having the proper documents.
