Three arrested for drugs in joint police action

Members of the North Bay Police Street Crime Unit and members of the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau of the OPP continue a cooperative effort in identifying and investigating crime in the North Bay area

The North Bay Police Street Crime Unit and members of the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau of the OPP joined forces to arrest three people on drug-related charges this week.

Police identified three people that were believed to be trafficking illicit drugs in the community.

On Tuesday, September 1 three individuals were arrested at locations in the downtown area and a search warrant was executed that evening at an Ashdale Crescent home in North Bay.

The investigation, including the search of individuals following their arrest and the search warrant, has led to the seizure of:

  • A 2018 Dodge Durango as offence related property.
  • Approximately 288.3 grams suspected cocaine
  • $18,000.00 in cash
  • weights for a scale
  • packaging material

The street value of the drugs is approximately $28,830.

Jeremy Lamontagne-Zalewski, 22, is charged with:

  • Two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking
  • Trafficking in a controlled substance
  • Two counts of possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime
  • Mischief
  • Breaching recognizance
  • Breach of probation
  • Driving while prohibited;

Rerrick Young, 27, is charged with:

  • Trafficking in a controlled substance
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime
  • Breach of a release order
  • Breach Probation

Ashley Santos, 23, is charged with:

  • Trafficking in a controlled substance
  • Two counts of possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime

Santos has been released from custody and will appear in the North Bay Courthouse on November 3.

Young and Lamontagne-Zalewski both remain in custody pending bail hearings at the North Bay Courthouse.
