Winter has a special type of beauty, the crisp cold air, boots crunching on snow, mist rising from rivers and frost clinging to trees.

Few people can capture that beauty the way that Neil P. Brown of North Bay can. Brown, a freelance video producer and a professor with the Television and Video Production Program at Canadore describes his latest project.

"Just spent a great snowshoeing weekend at the Canadian Ecology Centre in Samuel de Champlain Provincial Park. Despite the cold temperatures the  views were absolutely breathtaking at times. During the day it was the awesome views of the frost on the trees and at night it was the incredible star filled skies.

"These photographs were shot on February 14, 2016 during a stay at The Canadian Ecology Centre. Temperature was a cool -32 degrees."
