Swords, machete, brass knuckles, dynamite, magic mushrooms, cocaine and more seized after tip to police

Weapons seized by police; black brass knuckles, butterfly knife, two blue swords with sheaths, machete, aluminium baseball bat, pepper spray, two folding knives, dynamite, electric blasting cap and non-electric blasting cap as well as over $10,000 in Canadian currency

OPP have made a huge haul of weapons, drugs, and cash north of Parry Sound after a tip about a possible impaired driver.

It happened this past Sunday afternoon

Police found the vehicle in a parking lot on Magnetawan First Nation, near Britt.

After speaking with the driver, officers concluded the driver was under the influence of a drug. The driver was arrested and taken to the West Parry Sound OPP Detachment where further testing was conducted. 

Police seized drugs suspected to be:

  • Cocaine,
  • Methamphetamine,
  • Psilocybin mushrooms
  • marijuana. 

Weapons seized by police included: 

  • two blue swords with sheaths
  • machete
  • black brass knuckles 
  • butterfly knife
  • an aluminum baseball bat
  • pepper spray
  • two folding knives
  • dynamite
  • electric blasting cap and non-electric blasting cap

As well as over $10,000 in cash was seized.

Sabrina Shillington, 40, of North Bay, Robin Chatterjee, 42, from Cleland Township, near Sudbury and Vincent Marconato, 38, from Valley East, near Sudbury are all charged with:

  • Two counts of possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
  • Three counts of explosives making, or possessing for unlawful purpose
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Two counts of possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of a schedule III substance for the purpose of trafficking

In addition, Chatterjee has been charged with "operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs."

Shillington will appear in court at a later date

Chatterjee and Marconato are being held in custody and are scheduled to appear in bail court at the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound today.
