'Scouts is best done outdoors where COVID doesn’t spread as readily outdoors'

After three months of virtual Scouting online, North Bay Scouting started meeting in person during March and In April it's kicking off an eight- week adventure challenge hosted by Les Stroud aka Survivorman.

"Our return to in-person Scouting focuses on the key elements of the Scouting program, youth participating experiential fun outdoor program developing leadership, critical thinking, empathy and fostering stronger connections to their community," said  Don MacDonald of Scouts Canada

Adventure Teams of Beavers, Cubs, Scouts or Venturers meet in groups of 25 with youth and volunteer adult Scouters.

"Scouts is best done outdoors where COVID doesn’t spread as readily outdoors," explains MacDonald. "Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Venturers divide into small cohorts (Patrols) of 5 to 8 youth supported by Scouters and parents. Scouts Canada Pandemic Program Modification Standards guide Scouters to deliver fun, safe programs."
