It appears North Bay will be in for a very typical summer with temps around seasonal for the summer months.
That’s according to Canada’s Weather Network, as it released its Summer Forecast on Monday.
“For most of you in the North and the North Bay area, temperature-wise, we will be near normal,” stated Nadine Powell, Meteorologist with the Weather Network.
“To the North, you really have to head farther North to the shores of Hudson Bay and James Bay where temperatures will become a little bit more seasonal.”
However, the bad news is these recent warm temperatures are not expected to continue into June.
“We don’t think the same temperatures will stick around for the immediate future,” said Powell.
“We do see a little bit of a cool down on the way for us coming into June but then after that, we are expecting we will rebound coming toward the end of June or so.”
However, Powell says North Bayites should expect better conditions than last summer.
“I think much like the rest of Ontario, we should be able to tap into some of that warmth and enjoy some warmer conditions compared to last summer, this year in the North Bay area should be warmer,” she said.
In terms of precipitation don’t expect it to be a washout of a summer.
“We don’t think that will be the case for your area, as a matter of fact, a good opportunity for dry weather with storms expected to move through just below the North Bay region.”
