There is a sad update to the news on Wednesday November 25th.

"The Coroner’s Office has informed the North Bay Police Service this week that Claudette Telford, age 71, of North Bay died as a result of the injuries she sustained from the collision on McKeown Avenue," states a police news release.

“Our thoughts go out to all involved in this tragedy,” said Chief Paul Cook. “We know it is a difficult time not only for the family and friends of the victim but also the driver and his loved ones. We ask everybody to please focus when driving, make eye contact with pedestrians and stay safe.”

The accident happened at 10:13 in the morning, North Bay Police were immediately sent to the scene on McKeown Avenue, near Cartier Street.

A witness says it happened at a new intersection near the A&W when a truck, turning left coming into the intersection, struck the woman.

Telford was injured and transported to hospital by ambulance.

North Bay Police issued a Part III summons to the 68-year old male driver from Rutherglen, fail to yield to a pedestrian within a pedestrian crossover contrary to the Highway Traffic Act with a court date of January 8th, 2016.

Police say the driver, who was travelling in a Dodge pick-up truck, stopped at a red light in the parking lot of Cartier Plaza. When the traffic light turned green, he turned left onto McKeown Avenue from the Plaza and struck a 71-year old female pedestrian of North Bay who was crossing McKeown Avenue at the crosswalk.
