Streets lead the way in North Bay parking ticket stats

Statistics show 4578 parking tickets on area streets were handed out from of the 11,210 written up.

Street parking leads the way as the location where the majority of parking tickets are handed out within the city of North Bay. 

The City released its parking ticket information after a request was made to City Hall by BayToday. 

In 2022, statistics show 4,578 parking tickets on area streets were handed out, from of the 11,210 written up. 

A distant second place was tickets handed out in city lots which add up to 2,679. 

Another 418 were handed out at Jack Garland Airport in 2022.

City of North Bay parking tickets are at $20 for the first 7 days, and then $30 in value.

Last year, close to 300 accessible parking tickets were issued in North Bay. 

City Enforcement handed out a total of 256 while 32 were written up by Northgate Security at the Northgate Shopping Centre. 

Overall, Gord Young, communications officer with the City of North Bay says more than $135,000 in fines still need to be collected. 

"For parking matters that remain outstanding and are in the collection stage, there are 1,288 records, with a total of $136,478.98 outstanding," said Young. 

"This would include cases within the district dating back at least two years and that have progressed beyond plate denial."
