St.John's Anglican Church on Main St. East will be holding its 43rd annual Remembrance Sunday Service November 3, at 10: a.m.

The annual Remembrance Sunday Program is a concerted effort including 22 Wing /CFB North Bay, area cadet corps and squadrons, and the congregation at St. John’s.

The Remembrance Sunday program at St. John’s will focus on the sacrifices endured by Canadians who served in past wars and peacetime operations.

Attention will be given to the 100th anniversary of the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) and the 80th anniversary of D-Day. On June 6, 1944, the Royal Canadian Air Force flew as part of the Allied squadrons during D-Day operations. Their actions played an important role in the Allied success.

Prior to D-Day more than 100 Canadians from the RCAF were deemed to have participated in the Battle of Britain (1940) and 23 lost their lives. Remembrance Sunday at St. John’s will remember the great courage and devotion to duty of past and present RCAF members.

Members of the public are welcome to attend the Remembrance Sunday Service.
