The public is reminded to stay off Laurentian Ski Hill.

The Laurentian Ski Hill Snowboarding Club is continuing construction on numerous areas of the ski hill this summer and fall to reduce snowmaking costs and improve skiable areas.

Ski Hill officials say the heavy equipment and construction on the hill has created some potentially hazardous conditions.

"The ski hill is closed to the public during the offseason but some persons still choose to enter the restricted area which is located in the North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority’s Laurentian Escarpment Conservation Area (LECA)," a release stated.

“We strongly encourage hikers, walkers, runners and cyclists to use the Laurentian Escarpment Trails that are maintained by the North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority (NBMCA) and are free to use,” said Cam Graham, LSHSC General Manager.
