The North Bay and Area Potters' Guild is pretty excited about its updated pottery studio.

Club members will be showing it off during an open house to celebrate funding from the Ontario Trillium Foundation.

"The Guild received $20,200 to purchase a computer-controlled kiln, an air purification system, a glaze spray booth, a pug mill, and storage lockers," says Pat Stamp, secretary of North Bay Potters' Guild."These much-needed additions to the studio will allow the guild to better serve our members as well as adult students from the community."

Guild members will be present to demonstrate their skills on the potter's wheel, sculpting and hand building.  A class in making lidded jars will be in progress.

The open house takes place at 123 Delaware Avenue, on the ground floor at the Voyageur Inn Apartments on Friday, September 8, at 2 p.m.
