On November 7th, the North Bay Waterfront will once again become home base to the annual Stache Dash.
This year’s event will consist of a 5 km and 10 km run, as well as a 2 km walk/run, travelling along Memorial Drive and the Kate Pace Way.
All registered participants will received a race kit, and a participation medal. Everyone is welcome to register, and come out and run and have fun!
Registration closes Nov.1.
Movember Canada has called Stache Dash Canada’s Top charity running fundraiser.
This is the third year. In the past two years approximately 300 runners/walkers, men and women, and children have helped to raise over $10.000 for men’s health.
Efforts to raise awareness of prostate cancer and other male cancers are increasing. The goal of Movember is to change the face of men's health.
By encouraging men and women to get involved, Movember aims to increase early cancer detection, diagnosis and effective treatments, and ultimately reduce the number of preventable deaths.
Besides getting an annual check-up, the Movember Foundation encourages men and women to be aware of any family history of cancer, and to adopt a healthier lifestyle.
"Overall we want people to have fun, be healthy, and be aware," says a news release from the group." This November we hope to make it a bigger, and better event, and raise even more money for the cause."
