A Parry Sound man faces multiple charges after failing to stop his snow machine for police.
OPP were patrolling in the Town of Parry Sound Saturday at around 11 p.m.
The Motorized Snow Vehicle (MSV) failed to stop for police and was followed to a house in Parry Sound.
As a result of the officer’s investigation, the driver was arrested.
Richard Bailey, 43 years of age, from Parry Sound was charged with the following:
- Driving while ability impaired – motor vehicle (Alcohol)
- Driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol
- Dangerous operation of motor vehicle
- Flight while pursued by Peace Officer
- Resist Peace Officer
- Possession of a Schedule II Substance – under 30 grams
- Drive – no insurance
- Fail to notify change of ownership
- Drive motorized snow vehicle while licence suspended
- Fail to display evidence of permit
Bailey will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on March 5, to answer to his charges.
Along with these charges, the snowmobile was impounded for seven days.
If convicted of snowmobiling while impaired, a rider could lose all driving privileges (car, truck, motorcycle, boat, off-road vehicles and snowmobiles).
