A snowmobile accident yesterday has killed a Machar Township man.

Police say yesterday at 2:16 p.m. members of the Almaguin Highlands OPP investigated a snowmobile collision.

It occurred on the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs trail C105D near River Road in Joly Township.

The operator drove onto the soft snow along the edge of the trail and vaulted off a mound of snow and into several trees.

Brian Bradley, 55 of Machar Township died at the scene as a result of this collision.

He is one of the owners of the Empire, North Bay’s Landmark Retirement Residence on McIntyre St. in North Bay.

Their Facebook page says "It is with sadness that we have learned of the passing of one of The Empire's owners, Brian Bradley, following a snowmobile accident yesterday. Our deepest condolences go to his family and loved ones. While the Empire remains in the care of committed ownership, Brian's touch will certainly be missed, as will his smile and wonderfully positive outlook."

The Technical Traffic Collision Investigator was at the scene and determined that speed was a factor. A post-mortem has been scheduled and the investigation is continuing,
