Lookout, we're about to be hit with another blast of winter!

A snowfall warning has been issued for:

  • North Bay - West Nipissing,
  • Greater Sudbury and vicinity,
  • Burk's Falls - Bayfield Inlet,
  • Huntsville - Baysville
  • New Liskeard - Temagami,

Another significant snowfall on the way Friday night through Saturday.

Snowfall, with total amounts of 15 to 20 cm is expected.

A Colorado low is expected to trek towards Ontario tonight, with snow spreading across much of the region overnight. Snow will continue much of Saturday and Saturday night, before tapering off towards Sunday morning.

The snow is not expected to be particularly heavy, but the overall duration of the event is significant, and will give general snowfalls of 15 to perhaps 20 centimetres by the time it winds down early Sunday morning.

Deteriorating winter travel conditions can be expected with snow-covered roads and reduced visibility in falling snow.

Also, if you are driving south, a snow squall watch is issued for:

  • Burk's Falls - Bayfield Inlet,
  • Huntsville - Baysville,

Snow squalls are expected to develop. Under the snow squall bands, visibility will be significantly reduced due to the heavy snow, and snow will quickly accumulate.

Snow squalls are expected to develop later this morning and continue this evening. Local snowfall amounts of 10 to 15 cm per 12 hours are possible under heavier bands that may develop.

Snow squalls will weaken this evening, however a break in snowfall is not expected as a snowfall warning is in effect for overnight through Saturday.

Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.
