North Bay - Monique Smith, MPP for Nipissing, today announced $115,000 in funding for marketing of the North Bay Winter Campaign.

"The Ontario government is supporting marketing programs throughout Ontario to help build local tourism", said Smith. "These programs have a substantial economic impact on our communities and help to increase attendance at our events, and visitors to our attractions."

Partners of the North Bay Campaign include the City of North Bay, Ontario Northland Transportation Commission, North Bay Hotel Association and the ANTA Partners. Together with this tourism revitalization funding, the partners will work to increasing tourism in North Bay by building on our strengths in eco/adventure tourism.

"A healthy tourism industry supports Ontario's high quality of life," said Smith. "Our government is committed to helping build strong and vital communities trough the support of local tourism initiatives."

The Tourism Revitalization Program supports marketing campaigns of local communities to increase attendance at events and festivals, showcase their attractions and attract overnight visitors to boost local and regional economies.
