Re-construction of the Seymour St. and the bypass intersection resumes tomorrow. (Tuesday) It's one of the most complained about intersections in the city.

The work will involve widening the existing intersection to accommodate dual left-turn lanes on three of the intersection’s legs, as well as water main, storm sewers, traffic signals, and street illumination.
The project is valued at nearly $6.6 million with the City and MTO will splitting the cost.
“This project will provide improvements to the intersection that will accommodate future growth and address the need for added capacity due to existing and future expansion of nearby industrial and commercial developments,” said John Severino, City Engineer, Infrastructure & Operations when the project was announced last year.
Teranorth Construction and Engineering Limited from Sudbury will be doing the work from the railway crossing to 355 metres south of the intersection, as well as Seymour Street, from Franklin Street to 284 metres west of Highway 11/17.
Disruptions and delays are not expected at this time in light of reduced traffic along the provincial corridor related to the efforts to contain COVID-19.
The project is expected to be completed sometime in late summer.
