Severe Thunderstorm warning for North Bay and area

Environment Canada has issued a severe Thunderstorm warning for North Bay, Powassan and Mattawa 
"At 3:32 p.m. EDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing very strong wind gusts, up to nickel size hail and heavy rain," Environment Canada stated. 

This severe thunderstorm is located over North Bay moving southeast at 55 km/h.

Hazards could potentially include Nickel size hail.90 km/h wind gusts.

Environment Canada says a tornado is possible.

Locations impacted include North Bay, Derland, Corbeil, Champlain Park, Callander, Booth, and Astorville.

Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes.

Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors!

The Office of the Fire Marshal and Emergency Management recommends that you take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches.

Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are likely to produce or are producing one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.
