Search warrant results in drug charges

North Bay - On Saturday April 12th 2008, members of Project “Northern Gateway “ (a joint investigation between members of the Ontario Provincial Police and North Bay Police Service) executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Search Warrant at a North Bay residence.
Cannabis marihuana, and Oxycodone pills were located during the search. The seized drugs have a potential street value of approximately $4000.00. Two persons have been charged.


CHARGED:

1. David Kirk MCCALLUM (dob 05Jun79) of North Bay. Held for a bail hearing on 13Apr08 in North Bay Provincial Court.

• Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act – 2 counts (Cannabis marihuana/Oxycodone).

• Obstruct peace officer, contrary to section 129(a) of the Criminal Code.

• Breach of probation, contrary to section 733.1.(1) of the Criminal Code -2 counts.

2. Veronica PEPIN (dob 19Aug85) of North Bay. Released via Promise to Appear with conditions.

• Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act – 2 counts (Cannabis marihuana/Oxycodone).
