The Near North District School Board says West Ferris Secondary School was placed in a hold and secure this afternoon.
"At approximately 2:45 p.m. on Nov. 4, West Ferris Secondary School was placed in a hold and secure due to a trespasser on the property," a Near North Board memo stated Wednesday afternoon.
The Board says staff acted quickly to ensure all students and staff were safe.
"Police attended and safely handled the situation. The hold and secure was lifted shortly after 3 p.m," the release added.
The North Bay Police Service says it will be releasing more information about the incident on Thursday morning.
