The driver of a dump truck is lucky after his vehicle crashed off Highway 17 East, only a five to 10-minute drive from Mattawa near Boundary Road on Tuesday afternoon.
The OPP states the driver of the dump truck was taken to Mattawa hospital and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Witnesses credit an off-duty volunteer firefighter and his friend
from Maberly, Ontario for helping to save the driver from the damaged dump truck. No word on the cause of the single-vehicle collision. The OPP says the investigation is still ongoing.
