Using a space-age theme and rocking to Queen's "Don't stop me now", Sara Carson and her dog Hero took to the stage tonight (Tuesday) in America's Got Talent, shooting for the number one spot and its million dollar grand prize.
It wasn't perfect, for example, the skipping routine saw the rope tangled in Hero's body instead of clean jumps, but it was enough to draw praise from the judges.
"This was honestly incredible," gushed judge Simon Cowell. "If these were humans it would be an amazing act. It was stunning, it was magic, it was dog tricks. I was speechless at the end because the dog flew. What you did, honestly, all of you...amazing, incredible."
Mel B complimented Carson's outfit, calling her "absolutely gorgeous", and praising the high energy of the act.
"It was so fast and furious and exciting. It wasn't perfect but I thoroughly enjoyed it."
Heidi Klum mentioned Carson's kindness towards animals.
"I know he's (her dog) called Hero but I think you're really the hero because you rescue all these dogs, you train them to make a better life for the dogs and yourself, so here's to a million dollars."
Howie Mandel called her act the epitome of America's Got Talent.
"Where else can you see a dog act and so much fun, even with the mistakes it made it even more exciting."
Ten acts appeared on the show each performing once, and Sara faces stiff competition from a wide variety of acts including child singers, dancers, an act using their bodies to produce a light show and even a 12 year old ventriloquist.
