With Christmas approaching and only days until the Santa Fund baskets will be packed, organizers are worried they will not reach their fundraising goal for the 70th annual event.
"The goal of $140,000 is before us, and right now we're just barely over the $70,000 mark so we need the support of the community," said Co-Chair Lachlan McLachlan.
He also says there a couple of ways to make a donation including making a financial contribution online at www.santafund.ca or drop off a donation at the North Bay Nugget on Worthington.
McLachlan says all donors will receive tax receipts.
The packing of the baskets, including a holiday meal and gifts, takes place on Friday at the Fort Chippewa Barracks with delivery taking place on Saturday.
