The Salvation Army North Bay Ministries came up short of its holiday fundraising goal.
This year’s Christmas Kettle Campaign comprising of direct kettle donation, TipTap, mail-in and online donations raised $191,335, reaching 85 per cent of the overall goal that was set at $225,000.

Despite missing the goal, the Salvation Army still wishes to thank its Army of Givers for this year’s annual Christmas Kettle Campaign.
“We are so fortunate to have the community support here in North Bay who either donated their time to volunteer on our kettles or who donated financially to help us provide hope to our community’s most vulnerable,” said Major Stephanie Watkinson, Corps Officer, North Bay Ministries in a release.
The annual Christmas Kettle Campaign kicked off in mid-November and dedicated volunteers attended kettles that were on display at various retailer locations across the city until December 24.
“Although we were slightly off our goal, this year’s fundraising and volunteering efforts were a success in many ways," said Major Watkinson.
"The continued support of our Army of Givers during these challenging times is a true testament to their compassion for our most vulnerable and trust in us, The Salvation Army, to deliver life-changing programs in the community to those in need.
"Our primary focus moving into the New Year is to continue to provide hope through our various essential programs and services and develop strategies to continue our fundraising efforts and build upon innovative partnerships so we can help as many vulnerable community members as possible.”
Monetary donations are very much appreciated year-round for these programs and can be made online at www.salvationarmy.ca/northbay or dropped off at our location at 134 McIntyre Street East.
