Sally Ann's familiar red kettles will soon reappear

Deegan's is an appropriate spot as the late Ralph Diegel, co-owner of Deegan's, often played his trumpet in the Salvation Army Band

The Salvation Army's annual fundraising campaign will kick off on Friday, November 22 at 11 a.m.

"We will gather at Deegan's on Main Street to launch this year's campaign," says Major Stephanie Watkinson, Corps Pastor, "The famous Red Kettles have been in communities in Canada since 1903. This is our main fundraiser that supports not only our Christmas assistance but also our year-round programs."

Deegan's is an appropriate spot as the late Ralph Diegel, co-owner of Deegan's, often played his trumpet in the Salvation Army Band.

Kettles will start appearing in stores in North Bay starting on November 23 and will be out until December 24.  You can also donate here.

There is also a new volunteer portal that is piloting this year to assist volunteers in booking their shifts online. "Every shift is two hours long and is a great time to connect with our community," says Watkinson.

The local Salvation Army has struggled to meet its goal in the last few years. By mid-December last year the group had only collected a third of the money $75,200, that it needed.

The Salvation Army North Bay Ministries kick off its annual Christmas campaign in late November, with a local goal in the range of $225,000, which is comprised of the Red Kettles and the mail-in donations.
