CALLANDER, Ont. — Brent and Jennifer Bywater, the owners of Vested Interest Trading, are announcing the sale of their business, Rug-A-Roo Flooring, to local entrepreneur James Moore.
Rug-A-Roo Flooring is one of Callander’s oldest businesses. Rug-A-Roo opened in 1969 with one small showroom. Over time, it has grown to become one of the largest flooring suppliers in the North Bay area with a large selection of carpet, hardwood, engineered hardwood, laminate, ceramic, fiber floor and vinyl.
“Owning Rug-A-Roo for the past 25 years has been amazing, says former owner and entrepreneur Brent Bywater. "Through all the ups and downs experienced since 1999, our staff, customers, friends and community have stood by us through thick and thin! I will miss working with the wonderful Rug-A-Roo team and I wish James Moore the best for the next chapter. After 25 years of ownership, it’s time to pass on the business. I know the staff and the local community will continue to support Rug-A-Roo, allowing the business to grow and thrive.”
Under the ownership of the McNutt-Bywater family, Vested Interest Trading will remain exactly where it is in its home in Callander, beside Rug-A-Roo, continuing with its mission to support local and global artisans from around the world, engage in fair-trade and sustainable practices, and to support global economies by working with artisan families in Canada and around the world.
“I’m thrilled we will continue to offer our wonderful products to the community,” said Vested Interest owner Jennifer McNutt Bywater. “We encourage everyone to continue to shop local whether it’s specialty food items, antiques, teakroot furniture or home decor and gifts. We have many sustainable and natural choices available.”
