Road work continues in Sturgeon Falls, but the end is near

Municipality expects a fall completion to Front Street overhaul

Since June, Front Street (Highway 17) in Sturgeon Falls has been undergoing some changes – a full resurfacing, including work to the curbs and catch basins. However, the municipality expects the work to be complete by this Fall.

The Front Street resurfacing, in Sturgeon Falls’ downtown core, is taking place between Holditch and Michaud Streets. The resurfacing project is mostly funded by the Province’s Connecting Links Program, which is through the Ontario Build Infrastructure Plan.

Connecting Links provided just over one million for the project, the total of which comes to $1,135,700.

The Connecting Links Program, through the Ontario Builds Infrastructure Plan, helps to fund the repair and construction of municipal roads and bridges that connect two ends of a provincial highway through a community.
