Every year at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, people stop to pay tribute to those who have served, those who continue to serve, and those who paid the ultimate price for our freedom.
At Remembrance Day services around the world, wreaths were laid and a moment of silence observed in a year marking the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War.
Canadians also remembered the contributions made in the final days of the war, known as Canada’s 100 days
In North Bay, 22 Wing Commander Colonel Mark Roberts addressed the large crowd which gathered at Memorial Gardens.
“The Great War, the First World War kind of defined us as a nation. There was great sacrifice and loss. So remembering it was 100 years ago today, makes it extra special this year.”
BayToday has assembled a picture gallery from Sunday's Remembrance Day service.
