East Fire Region situation update for August 13th.

One new fire in the region yesterday

76 fires to date in the East Fire Region since April 1, 2008

There are currently no active fires in the East Fire Region. Pembroke 1, which was caused by lightning, was reported yesterday at 0.1 hectares in size and is now out.

The forest fire hazard in the East Fire Region is low to moderate.

Always use caution with all outdoor fires and follow safe burning guidelines. Remember to choose a safe site, keep your fire small and never leave it unattended. Ensure the fire is put dead out before leaving the site. If you live in a Municipality, chec k local bylaws for any burning restrictions that may apply.
