The North Bay Police Service was involved in a high-speed pursuit just after 3 a.m. regarding a stolen vehicle from Victoria Street.
Police spokesman Yvan Montcalm said "a high rate of speed" was involved, and that part of the pursuit took place in the Pinewood area of the city.
"The driver blew through some stop signs and failed to pull over the police," Montcalm said.
The vehicle was travelling on Algonquin Avenue and officers used a spike belt to try to stop it. The vehicle was abandoned by the driver and he was captured after a short foot chase by constables Joe Gardiner and Richard Hampel.
Steven Lindsay WILSON, 19, of no fixed address, faces charges of dangerous driving, failing to stop for police, theft of a motor vehicle, several Highway Traffic Act charges and several breach charges. The investigation is ongoing.
Wilson was kept in custody.
