Purse snatcher

A 17-year-old male has been arrested and charged after a purse was stolen from a woman Thursday.

Cst. Greg McClenaghan of the North Bay Police Service investigated the incident, which took place at Partner’s Billiards and Bowl on Main Street East in North Bay.

Police said the victim told them the accused, a stranger, approached her while she was walking up the stairs to the establishment and took her purse.

There were no threats or violence during this theft. Cst. McClenaghan arrested the 17-year-old suspect near the scene of the theft, charged and released him with theft under $5000 and breach of an undertaking.
