Popular Ribfest event cancelled

'Over the years, our humble event has brought thousands of people together to enjoy delicious food, raised $35,000 for Community Living, and supported the local Live Music scene'

A hugely popular event in the city has been cancelled, and once again you can blame the coronavirus.

"It is with a heavy heart that we announce the cancellation of our 8th Annual North Bay Ribfest at The Voyager," says an event Facebook post from the Richardson family. "Over the years, our humble event has brought thousands of people together to enjoy delicious food, raised $35,000 for Community Living, and supported the local Live Music scene.

"With the safety of our community, staff, and participants being our highest priority, we felt this was the right decision. Make no mistake, 2021 edition of Ribfest will re-emerge bigger and better than ever.

"In the meantime and in the spirit of giving back, we have joined forces with Kennedy Insurance to "Fuel our Frontliners" - an initiative started by the incredible CareMongers - North Bay and Area to help support local restaurants while showing our gratitude for brave essential workers. On June 26, 50 frontline workers at Eastholme will be treated to a delicious lunch catered by THE NOBLE STEED."
