DNCE is coming to Memorial Gardens as the headliner for Friday night's entertainment to kick off Summer in the Park.

The announcement came on the big screen at Memorial Gardens before the OHL playoff game between the Kingston Frontenacs and North Bay Battalion Thursday night.

The American funk-rock band consists of vocalist Joe Jonas, formerly from the Jonas Brothers, along with drummer Jack Lawless, bassist and keyboardist Cole Whittle, and guitarist JinJoo Lee.

Their debut single "Cake by the Ocean" reached top 10 status on several charts back in 2015.

“We are beyond thrilled to have iconic American funk-rock band, DNCE, headlining in this year’s festival lineup,” said Summer in the Park Co-Chair, Thomas Brown. “What a way to kick off the first night of the civic long weekend in August at Summer in the Park.”

“Tickets for the DNCE concert start at $40 plus HST and ticketing fees. Tickets will go on sale starting on Friday, April 6th at 9 a.m. This show will be a hot seller, tickets will go fast, so don’t delay.” stated Brown.

They also were nominated for Favorite New Artist for the 2016 Kids' Choice Awards and Best Song to Lip Sync and Best Anthem for the 2016 Radio Disney Music Awards. The group performed at the 2017 Fashion Meets Music Festival.
