Update: Suspect named, Police release update this morning of a women murdered in East Ferris 40 year ago

Police will provide details of a resolution to the murder of 20-year-old Micheline St. Amour.

On Wednesday, November 18, 2020, police arrested and charged Roger Deschenes, 62,, of North Bay with First Degree Murder.

North Bay OPP will update details of a murder that happened 40 years ago at a news conference this morning.

The historic homicide took place in East Ferris in 1980.

Regional Commander of the OPP's North East Region, Chief Superintendent Carson Pardy, will be joined by Detective-Inspector Kurtis Fredericks from the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch to provide details of a resolution to the murder of 20-year-old Micheline St. Amour.

She was found stabbed several times in the bedroom of her home on Hwy 17 in East Ferris Township.
