A joint operation between city police, Ottawa police, and the OPP has seen three people arrested and over $116,000 worth of drugs seized.
A news release from the Ottawa Police Service says on February 28, a traffic stop was conducted in North Bay involving two vehicles.
Officers seized a large quantity of drugs, suspected to be purple Fentanyl and cocaine. The street value of the drugs is estimated to be over $116,000.
Three people were arrested.
Abel Solano-Santana, 42, of Ottawa is charged with:
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – other drugs
- Failure to comply with a release order
Solano-Santana was remanded into custody pending bail and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on March 4.
Nadine Stanley, 35, of Carp, Ontario, is charged with:
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – other drugs
Stanley was remanded into custody pending bail and was scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay today.
Samantha Stanley, 28, of Ottawa, is charged with:
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – other drugs
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
Stanley was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on April 6.
The arrests are part of "Project Northern Lights," supported through funding provided by the Ontario Government.
The Ottawa Police Service Drugs and Street Crime Unit, OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau and the North Bay Police Service Street Crime Unit all participated in the operation.
