Police seize handgun

The North Bay Police have seized a loaded handgun as a result of an investigation on Tuesday.  

The North Bay Police responded to a report that Anthony Grantham was in violation of a court order. 

The investigation resulted in police conducting a vehicle stop near the intersection of Lakeshore Drive and Judge Street in North Bay shortly before 11:30 pm. 

Police say they identified Anthony Grantham as an occupant of the motor vehicle and following his arrest for violating the court order police allege he was in possession of a loaded handgun.

North Bay Police have arrested and charged Anthony Grantham, age 25, of North Bay with:

  • Two Counts of Fail to Comply with Probation; 
  • One Count of Failure to Comply with Release Order;
  • Three Counts of Possession of a Weapon Contrary to Order;
  • One Count of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm;
  • One Count of Knowledge of Unauthorized Weapon;
  • One Count of Unauthorized Possession in Motor Vehicle;
  • One Count of Possession of Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition; and
  • One Count of Careless Storage of Firearm

The accused remains in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse on September 1, 2021.
