A vehicle nailed by Mattawa OPP for speeding yielded a bonanza of drugs, guns, and money Tuesday afternoon.
Officers became suspicious of the occupants and began an investigation, after pulling the vehicle over in Papineau-Cameron Township.
Their hunch paid off and police seized suspected ecstasy tablets, suspected methamphetamine pills, two revolvers, ammunition, suspected cannabis marijuana, suspected cannabis resin, suspected cocaine and a large amount of cash.
Three people are now charged with numerous offences.
Krystal Boertien, 43, of Sudbury, is charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine,
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Opioid,
- Two counts of possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Other Drugs
- Two counts Careless Storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition
- Two counts Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
- Unauthorized Possession of Weapon
- Two counts of knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
- Possessing Cannabis for the Purpose of Selling
- Two counts Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing There was Firearm
- Possession of Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm and
- Two counts of possession of a Firearm, Prohibited or Restricted Weapon Obtained by Crime
Eric Graveline,39, of Gatineau, Quebec, is charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine,
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Opioid,
- Two counts of Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Other Drugs
- Two counts of Careless Storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition
- Two counts of Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
- Unauthorized Possession of Weapon
- Two counts of Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
- Possessing Cannabis for the Purpose of Selling
- Two counts Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing There was Firearm
- Possession of Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm and
- Two counts of Possession of a Firearm, Prohibited or Restricted Weapon Obtained by Crime.
Pascal LABELLE, 41, of Gatineau, Quebec, is charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine,
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Opioid,
- Two counts of Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Other Drugs
- Two counts of Careless Storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition
- Two counts of Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
- Unauthorized Possession of Weapon
- Two counts Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
- Three counts Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order
- Possessing Cannabis for the Purpose of Selling
- Two counts Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing There was Firearm
- Possession of Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm and
- Two counts of Possession of a Firearm, Prohibited or Restricted Weapon Obtained by Crime.
All three have been remanded into custody pending bail.
