OPP say they have arrested four people after responding to a theft call in Mattawan Township, north of Mattawa, Jan. 18.
North Bay Detachment OPP were dispatched to Highway 656 at 5 p.m. and found that thieves had stolen hub caps and lug nuts from a vehicle.
Then at 5:30 a.m., yesterday, officers received a call about a break and enter to a shed in Phelps Township. The trespassers were scared off by the property owners.
Officers patrolled the area and found the suspects' vehicle with four people inside. All were arrested.
Police searched the vehicle and found the hub caps and lug nuts suspected to be from the theft on Highway 656 the day before.
Ashley Adair, 39 of North Bay, is charged with:
- Trespassing at night
- Break and enter a place with intent to commit an indictable offence
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
Beau Desvreaux, 36, of Bonfield, is charged with:
- Operation while prohibited under the criminal code
- Trespassing at night
- Break and enter a place with intent to commit an indictable offence
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
Mackenzie Desvreaux-Houle, 29, of Bonfield, is charged with:
- Possession of a schedule I substance
- Four counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
- Trespassing at night
- Break and enter a place with intent to commit an indictable offence
Ernie Walla, 48, of Gravenhurst, is charged with:
- Trespassing at night
- Break and enter a place with intent to commit an indictable offence
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
All were released on an undertaking with a date to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on February 16.
