In the Echo Essentials Podcast clip above, Gary Gardiner, a first-term North Bay city councillor visits the Echo Essentials Podcast studio to share what changed his mind about the proposed twin-pad arena project.

Co-hosts Scott Clark and Dave Dale are joined by Gardiner for a late-October discussion with a decision looming on the twin-pad arena and community centre destined for the Steve Omishcl Sports Complex.

While he never shut the door on moving forward with what he saw as an appropriate project for the community, Gardiner expressed serious concerns about the proposal over the past number of years.

Despite his late entry into the political sphere in North Bay, Gardiner brings a respected and sage voice to the council table on a variety of issues. Gardiner is also the chair of the municipal Community Safety and Well-Being ad hoc committee.
