Pulling planes and spending nights in the museum has worked out well for the local United Way.
A cheque was presented today for $20,000.
In October. 16 teams, comprised of 15 members each, took to a corner of North Bay's Jack Garland Airport for a 30 metre, timed pull of a CRJ aircraft.
The fundraiser was a coordinated effort between CFB North Bay, Voyageur Airways and the Jack Garland Airport.

“This is a year of firsts for the GCWCC campaign at 22 Wing," said Capt. Dionysios Gosselin, Chairperson. "We hosted the first ‘Plane Pull’ in North Bay in October, the first ‘Night at the Museum’ and the first Bingo for United Way at the Mess. To top that all off, it was also the first year we raised a record $20 000!”
“This is the seventh year that 22 Wing has supported the United Way through the Government of Canada Workplace Charitable Campaign," Col. Mark Roberts, 22 Wing Commander said. "Adding this year’s contributions from the incredible generosity of our members, 22 Wing has raised a total of over $120 000 for registered Canadian charities.”
Added Erika Lougheed, United Way spokesperson, “I am absolutely humbled at the incredible generosity, creativity and passion that the members of 22 Wing led by Capt. Gosselin and his team have contributed to this year’s United Way Campaign. The monies raised will support health partners, charities that look to eliminate poverty highlighting the needs of children.”
