Origional story:

OPP are investigating the death of a female pedestrian, struck on Highway 17 near Mattawa early yesterday morning.

The accident happened at 6:40 a.m.,

The North Bay Detachment of the OPP responded to a report of a pedestrian walking on Highway 17 in Papineau-Cameron Township, east of Mattawa. 

While police were on route, the pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle.

A 33-year-old woman from London, Ontario was pronounced dead at the scene. 

OPP Technical Collision Investigators arrived to assist with the investigation. Two lanes on Highway 17 were closed for seven hours for the investigation. One lane of the three lane section remained open.

A post mortem examination will take place on Tuesday, November 17.
