Patient goes berserk In Elliot Lake hospital emerge

OPP arrested a man yesterday they say let anger get the best of him in the Elliot Lake Hospital earlier this month.

Back on October 16, at 11:40 a.m. police responded to a disturbance call at the hospital. Staff were dealing with a person in the emergency room who began "acting out."

The man was throwing equipment and furniture around, causing considerable damage. Equipment was also thrown at a staff member.          

Matthew Lefebvre, 34, from Elliot Lake is charged with:

  • Mischief over $5,000
  • Mischief under $5,000
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Being a common nuisance - endanger life
  • Mischief - obstructs, interrupts or interferes with the lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property

Lefebvre is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on January 5, 2021.
