Members of the North Bay Regional Health Centre's Outpatient Rehabilitation Team have been recognized for their impact on a patient's experience at the local hospital.

“I am expressing my sincere appreciation and thanks to the entire Outpatient Rehabilitation team for their tremendous support throughout my recovery following a recent knee replacement," said the anonymous patient.

That recognition led to Golden Heart Awards given to the Outpatient Rehabilitation Team.

"I received excellent care, and the team was incredibly friendly, helpful, and encouraging to me," the patient recalls.

"Although the first couple of weeks of physiotherapy were challenging, I enjoyed coming to my appointments and felt excited about my improvements.

"This experienced team really knows what they are doing and I couldn’t be more appreciative of the confidence and care I received from all of them. Thank you.”

This team went above and beyond for a patient at NBRHC, inspiring a donation to the Grateful Family Program through the Foundation.

The Golden Heart Award is given through the Grateful Family donation where a staff member, physician, volunteer or department is recognized by a patient or a family's patient.

Those honoured from the donation are recognized at staff meetings, on the hospital blog, and are awarded a golden heart badge for their name tag.
