Over 100 join rally to protest COVID restrictions

There was no sign of masks or social distancing.

Despite this district returning to the yellow level Monday, a rally at the waterfront this afternoon attracted more than 100 men, women and children to protest government COVID restrictions.

The protesters were peaceful, enthusiastic, and waved flags and banners.

There was no sign of masks or social distancing.

The protest was part of "World Wide Freedom Day." a police cruiser was seen occasionally in a nearby parking lot, but did not interfere with the rally.

One protester told BayToday that the group feels the government has gone too far in imposing lockdowns in Ontario.

Another said she believed the COVID pandemic was a hoax. Yet another was against the vaccine rollout and a fourth said he was standing up for small business.

A young boy waved a sign that stated, "Is your fear worth my childhood?"
