Organizers say over 1,000 people took part in the first Outdoor Movie Night at Omischl Park on Saturday.
The event was put on by the Ferris Business Network.
Movie fans had access to pizza from Rolly's pit stop, bags of chips and drinks from Varied Treasure, popcorn from Galaxy Cinemas, and other goods from various food stands
Proceeds were donated to the Big Brothers/Big Sisters.
"The movie Mario Brothers 3 was well received by the enthusiastic crowd who came prepared with blankets, pop-up tents and house coats," said one of the organizers Mike Gelinas.
The idea to have an outdoor movie came from Jeff Buckton, a member of the Ferris Business Network, who wanted more activities in Ferris.
"Over 40 per cent of the North Bay population live in Ferris, so it made a lot of sense to have one of the city's outdoor movies in Ferris" stated Buckton, who owns and operates the No Frills in Ferris with his wife Tanis. "Stay tuned for more attractions in Ferris"
Sponsors for the event included Big Brothers/Big sisters, Caisse Alliance, Giant Tiger in Ferris, Varied Treasures, Jeff and Tanis No
Frills the City of North Bay, Ferris Home Hardware, and Crafty Dan's Artisan Food Truck.
"Overall a lot of great reviews from the people and families who were there," added Gelinas. "Great turnout for a first attempt."
