Deb Marson, My Team Cares chair says the community is embracing the new Food Bank initiative that was introduced to the public back in early November.
"It's going really good, we have 15 teams - and I call them teams because that's how we are classifying them - whether they are groups, associations or businesses such as March of Dimes, YMCA, those are just a couple that have come on board that we have not seen in the past so opening up the entire community to participate has brought in some new ideas and incentives," said Marson.

The My Team Cares campaign took over from the successful Coach4Food program which helped raise money and gathered food for the North Bay Food Bank.
Marson says the key difference is that this is a year-round Food Bank initiative.
"There has not been anyone who has said this is not a good idea, everyone has accepted it with open arms realizing that the Food Bank does need sustainability throughout the calendar year and not just at a four-week period with minor hockey so yes, we have had great uptake on it," she said.
However, they hope to have some numbers on how the program is doing in early 2020.
"We will work towards something in the new year where we will have a good handle on the monetary and pound donation for the holiday season working with Amber at the Food Bank to see where we are at and we will be able to provide some updates through social media," she said.
