There has been increased rail traffic in North Bay these days.
BayToday has learned that CN has started re-routing some of its rail traffic through Ontario Northland lines including here in North Bay.
"A limited amount of CN trains have detoured on Ontario Northland's rail line over the past week," said Rebecca McGlynn, Director of Marketing and Communications at Ontario Northland.
"Ontario Northland connects to CN in North Bay, Hearst and Rouyn-Noranda."
The detour has been caused by the large anti-pipeline protests which have impacted the major rail networks across the country.
Environmental protestors in support of the Wet'suwet'en people of B.C. have set up blockades at numerous locations.

That has caused some major railways, including CN, to shut down large portions of Canada's passenger and freight train service.
